BEADNELL GROVE, DRESDEN
ARNI Architects were pleased to be appointed the architects on a new build project of 4 two-bedroom mews houses in Dresden. The result of successful completion on a previous project, with the same client.
The project was based on an existing residential street and would in fill an area of derelict land previously used as a car park. The client’s requirements were to create a modern and distinctive set of homes, that would give architectural character to the area, whilst adding to the diverse assortment of periods and styles within the immediate area.
Throughout the project a number of obstacles presented themselves due to the location of neighbouring houses. One such obstacle was due to the fact that the development, once completed, would result in the occupants being able to see into the neighbouring properties at the rear. ARNI’s creativity was able to extinguish the planning problem, through the use of oriel bay windows. At 45° degree angles the windows prevented the issue of privacy for the neighbouring houses, resulting in a successful planning application.
ARNI and our client were extremely pleased with the finished design.
